About Me
My name is Haley Lawrence, and I am a clinical social worker (LCSW-C). I attended McDaniel College and received my Bachelors of Arts in Social Work (BSW) in 2016. Following graduation, I attended University of Maryland and received my Masters in Social Work (MSW) in 2018. I began my post-grad career in May 2018 by accepting a position as an off-site counseling therapist at an agency located in Montgomery County, Maryland. I have worked with children, adolescents, and adults. I have experience conducting both individual, family, and couples therapy. I have worked with the following: anxiety, depression, mood disorders, ADHD, behavioral issues, grief/bereavement, bipolar disorder, and trauma. I practice using the following interventions: CBT, anger management skill building, relationship skill building, DBT, and supportive talk therapy. I am licensed with the Maryland Board of Social Workers and the DC Board of Social Workers.
Outside of work I love to spend time with family, friends, my boyfriend, and my two puppies (Dallas and Cooper)! My ideal day off involves the outdoors (preferably the beach), a good crossword or sudoku puzzle, and some yummy food!
My Philosophy
I believe YOU are the expert of yourself. I am not here to make judgements or tell you what to do. I am here to listen and offer support, so you discover the best version of yourself. Perfection does not exist and happiness is not a destination. When you can work on the inside, everything on the outside becomes manageable.
